The KL Journal Hotel

One of the best things about hotels is the rest that you get especially when you have a long layover or transit. We checked into the KL Journal hotel during our one day layover in Kuala Lumpur. I booked my hotel from booking.com

The Kuala Lumpur Journal Hotel

The hotel was quite central and located within walking distance to Bukit Bintang and the famous foodie heaven: Jalan Alor. You can also find Pavilion Mall and Starhill Gallery in under 10 minutes. The monorail station is also very close to the hotel if you decide to take KL Ekspres from the airport. When we arrived at the hotel, we were welcomed by a friendly receptionist and quickly given the keycard to our room.

Outside of the elevator, there was a quick brochure on facilities that are available at the hotel as well as places that can be visited around the KL Journal. The keycard even has a mini map where you can see places around the hotel area.

KL Journal gave a vibe of a stylish modern hotel which was evident from the time we stepped into the hotel lobby as well as from the bluetooth speaker clock that we had in our room. I had fun playing my Akdong Musician playlist from the bluetooth speaker. It worked very well as the morning alarm as well!

The hotel has an outdoor pool that operates all year long and a gym that can be used by guests. The bathroom was clean and the hotel provided all guests with shampoo and liquid body soap. There was a box of other facilities such as shaver, toothpaste, toothbrush and comb that can be used freely.

Our Deluxe King Room came with one extra large double bed which was more than enough for two people.  The goose down pillows helped us to sleep comfortably. I also like the accessible light switch that located next to the bed.

The next day we had delicious meal at the Bounty Restaurant which was connected to the KL journal. I think the cost of the room at KL Journal was quite good when compared to other hotels. Our room costed under $100 per night and it was a spacious room as well.

If you're looking for a comfortable stay, easy to access and close to the heart of KL, the KL Journal will definitely fit the bill. They also offer a good rate at their hotel. Remember to compare the price from different booking sites as well as the hotel website.
