AirAsia Premium Red Lounge

During my paid trip to Kuala Lumpur by AirAsia, I decided to upgrade my seat to Premium Flatbed which gave me instant access to the AirAsia Premium Red Lounge. Otherwise, access to the lounge is available to all customers for RM79. If you're a BIG Member then it can be pre-booked for RM69.

For a budget airline, the 24-hr lounge can provide some relief for people who have a layover at KLIA2. Hot food, shower facilities and work stations are readily available to be used. There's a 3-hr time limit to use the lounge now.

Delish nasi lemak with samosa and curry puff on the side ;-)

I was there while waiting for my morning flight, so my breakfast is the local's fave: nasi lemak. It was delicious and it seemed that they kept the food in small amounts according to the number of people in the lounge. There were also sandwiches, cereals, free water, AirAsia's brand T&CO tea and coffee available for free.

The wi-fi connection was really good and I spotted a lot of people who watched movies using their laptop or tablets. There were three workstations available at the premise if you need to use the computer as well as charging stations.

Shower facilities with warm water and free towels are available at the Lounge but you might need to wait a bit before using it if there are a lot of people. The shower was combined together with toilet.

AirAsia Premium Red Lounge is located at the airside after immigration, in close proximity to Sama Sama Express. One important thing to note: there is an electronic panel that will show your plane's boarding time but I usually put an alarm on my phone to remind myself.

I think the lounge is perfect for a solo traveler or couple but it can be quite pricey if you're travelling with kids. If you're looking for a quiet place to chill then AirAsia Premium Red Lounge is a good spot to stay for a short time.

The trip to KL was sponsored by AirAsia, but all opinions within this write-up are my own.
