Chakra Indian Restaurant Perth

Chakra is a modern Indian restaurant located at the corner of Seventh Ave and Beaufort St. I drove past the area million times but never really noticed it. One day we were invited to dine at Chakra. The experience was outstanding that we went again for the second time.

After dining twice at Chakra and tried some of their dishes, I can confidently outlay top 5 items to try from Chakra:

Deconstructed Samosa

The meat for deconstructed samosa was very flavourful. You can also try to mix it with the chickpeas puff in the glass or even enjoy both separately. This is the entree item that we will order again and again.

Green Kebab (Vegan/Vegetarian)

This dish was so packed full of flavour. It contains Khichdi risotto, coconut chutney, beetroot chips and fresh pomegranate seeds. I was surprised that Green Kebab made a big impression on me primarily since it was a vegetarian dish. I didn't hear any complaint from the two different groups that I shared this dish with.

Chakra Special Chicken Biryani

At Chakra, they cooked the Chicken Biryani in traditional way and served it with a side of beetroot yoghurt. When we opened the bread, the fragrant aroma really enveloped us. It smelt so good! Sonia explained that they used the aged Basmati rice which was lighter.

Pulled Beef Empiler (Gluten Free)

This is my personal favourite, especially since this dish is quite light. It's served in a stack, starting with rice at the bottom and mixed with Kachumber salad, pulled beef and crunchy chickpea puffs. The presentation of the dish was outstanding.

Chilli Margarita

Spicy Chilli Margarita!

I didn't know what I got myself into when I ordered this drink. Kumar told me that if I liked something sweet and sour, then this would be my kind of cocktail. It was... different! On the first sip, I could taste the spicy and salty flavour. Each sip became more addictive. It's definitely unusual but delicious.

If you make a booking at Chakra, Sonia and Kumar will definitely leave a personalised card and a message to welcome you. Chakra is also kids friendly and they even have a small colouring pack to give to your kids.

I love Chakra. The food, the people, the atmosphere and the thoughtful design that went into each bespoke lantern and brass lamps. Kumar was the one that designed it and he worked together with a craftsman in India. Ask him all about the design works when you visit Chakra next time.

Chakra is a great place to celebrate special occasion or just to enjoy delicious Indian food in Perth. Sonia and Kumar definitely shows the famous Indian hospitality through their kind words and action. They were really welcoming and I can't wait to go back for the third time!
