Fika on Brix

Fika on Brix finally opened their cafe for business in May at Mills Park Centre. The location is right in front of an adventure park and it looked very cozy. We went there during one rainy day in May. It was a bit hard to find because it was located at the back area of Mills Park Centre. There were some small signs that pointed us to the right direction.

Fika on Brix (Brixton St) was created on below idea:

Fika (Swedish pronunciation [fiːka]) is a concept in Swedish (and Finnish) culture with the basic meaning "to have coffee", often accompanied with pastries, cookies or pie.

Fika has a communal table that can fit 6 (comfortably) or 8 people (might be a bit squeezy). It's a good option to have if you need to have a group gathering over breakfast or brunch. There is also outdoor seating available which will be perfect if you want to bring your pet along for a brunch session.

Honestly, gotta try this Wagyu Burger!

I didn't try any pretty cookies and pastries when I went there but I was so delighted with their Wagyu Burger! The Wagyu beef patty was cooked perfectly and very juicy. It was decorated with melted cheddar, delicious caramelised onion and smokey BBQ sauce before it got sandwiched in between slightly squishy potato buns (yummmms)!

The second thing that we tried was probably one of the prettiest items in the menu. I saw a lot of uploaded photos in Instagram too. It was the Brioche French Toast. What set this one apart was the black sesame custard and they served a generous amount of the custard too. The french toast was accompanied with strawberries and granola nut crumble.

Fun fact: the brioche toasts were stacked together but it slipped because I moved it around too much... xD. The photos turned out to be quite pretty though! #happymoment

We only tried two items at Fika that morning since we didn't have any more space in our tummy. The food portion was generous and we were impressed with their coffee and friendliness of the staff too. Next time I will try their Chicken Katsu Bao and Trio Garlic Mushrooms.
