Twisted Chopsticks, Vic Park
When Twisted Chopsticks came up with a new vegan menu, I was so excited. Even though I’m a meat eater, it’s quite refreshing to have vegan meals once in a while. Twisted Chopsticks is specialising in Modern Korean cuisine, and the Chef always put an effort to prepare fresh produce and house-made sauce. According to my past experience at the Twisted Chopsticks, I had an expectation that their vegan menu will be delicious as well.
The first thing that Andrew, Shannon, and I tried was the Twisted Salad Tacos with Jackfruit filling. It was delicious, and the texture of jackfruit made us feel like we were eating pulled meat. It has tanginess from the mustard coleslaw, which makes it quite refreshing.
Shannon is not a big fan of tofu. When she tried the Tofu Bao, she was enjoying it, and if left to it she'd probably finish the whole thing. The bao was fluffy, and tofu has enough crunchiness on the outside.
The third vegan item that we tried was Stir-Fried Tofu and Falafel in the sweet and spicy sauce. I love how this dish came with cut up apples as well. Apple really gives crunchy texture and fresh injection into any meal. All of us really enjoyed this dish.
Andrew was looking forward to his non-vegan meals. He ordered the spiciest dish on the menu and his all-time favourite kimchi pancake. The kimchi pancake was different from what we usually ordered at other Korean restaurants. Their version was crunchier, and it was so yum!
The Twisted Fire Chicken was super spicy, no kidding! Twisted Chopsticks had a lot of full tables when we were there. This dish caught customers by surprise and sent them into coughing fits. The Chef mixed different peppers and chillies together to get the tasty spicy sauce.
We enjoyed our dinner at Twisted Chopsticks. Twisted Chopsticks has a big menu, so next time we're thinking of trying their 'Feed Me' option instead ;-).
