YY Kafei Dian near the end of Purvis Street was the place that I went to for fluffy and soft kaya bun intake. It was so tasty and delicious that I could have it every morning for breakfast, along with a bowl of half-boiled eggs. As an old-school Hainanese coffee shop, it's impressive to see how they're always busy. 

Another yummy Hainanese dish here is their chicken rice.  We tried both the steamed and roasted chicken which was tender and fragrant. The Hainanese rice was delicious as well. A perfect lunch or dinner meal if we're craving some good chicken rice. We love our chicken rice with heaps of tangy and spicy chicken rice chilli sauce.

Once, when we ordered both chickens, a group at a table next to us asked about it because the chicken wasn't available on the menu. We informed them that they can just ask the staff at the counter for it. Service at YY Kafei Dian was always prompt and quick. Occasionally there are queues at peak lunch and dinner time, but the turn around is usually swift.

For the price and quality that they offer, I'd recommend this Hainanese coffee shop for anyone who's looking for cheap, quick and delicious bites.
