Staycation at Aston Braga, Bandung
Aston Braga was the hotel that we stayed at when we explored Braga for the whole day. The manager and staff were pleasant to deal with and quick in accommodating our request. As an aparthotel, Aston located in the central heart of Braga.
Inside our aparthotel, we found ranges of self-service facilities such as stove, plates, cutleries and even a dining table. The aparthotel has a queen bedroom and a separate single bed across it. There's also a 24-hour in-room dining menu that offers food from famous locations in Bandung.
There's something magical about walking around the Braga Street. As one of the artistic districts in Bandung, Braga retained a lot of old buildings. Wherever you go, you'll be able to see painting sellers on the street. Some cafes have been around for more than 50 odd years. Braga Street is also connected to Asia Afrika Street where you can find the Historical Museum of the Asian-African conference.
Aston Braga also has a free shuttle service to the famous Pasar Baru market. A lot of people from different countries flocked to Pasar Baru to buy items at a very competitive wholesale price. My mum joked that it usually Indonesian people who purchase the same items overseas and brought it back as souvenirs to Indonesia (hahaha).
Due to its central location, Aston Braga made it easy for us just to walk out and find food in the middle of the night. When we needed to buy some medicines, the closest convenience store was located across the hotel. There are a good variety of eateries, street food stalls and fast food place at Braga Street. Since Aston Braga is located inside of the shopping centre, you have the easy access to the Cinema XXI.
In the morning we checked out the swimming pool which was kept clean. The swimming pool was found near the breakfast place. Unfortunately, we skipped breakfast because we woke up too late. We had the excellent lunch buffet at the hotel though with a good selection of Sundanese food.
We were delighted with our stay at Aston Braga. The price and proximity to various old cafes and historic sites were helpful as well. I definitely recommend Aston Braga if you want to explore Braga and surrounding areas in one day.
