AGL's BBQ for Telethon

On Friday last week (20 October), Perth commuters stopped by Forrest Place to get free breakfast thanks to AGL. Everytime someone grabbed a free meal, AGL pledged to donate $10 to Telethon. Yes, I had to read it twice to make sure that I got it right. In total 1,000 burgers were eaten and AGL made a $10,000 donation to Telethon!

Some skeptical crowds thought that there'd be some volunteers asking for gold coin donations for the free breakfast sandwich. That wasn't the case at all. AGL provided each meal for free, all we had to do was to turn up and queue on the day.

"You won't believe this. They're giving away free breakfast at Forrest Place. Come down soon before they run out," said a guy who walked passed me. Other than office workers, I also saw school students lined up excitedly for their meal. They were so excited to be there and happy that Perth helped AGL raise $10,000 for Telethon!

Five Perthonalities set up early in the morning and served a lot of people from 7-10 AM. The talent behind the BBQ included our favourite chef Jordan Bruno, Bachelor runner-up Nikki Gogan, Australian Olympic swimmer, Eamon Sullivan, former West Coast Eagles (WCE) player Ross Glendinning and Scott Guerini, the 11 year-old Perth boy who has raised over $125,000 for Telethon to date. The mascot of WCE, Rick the Rock, happily flew from one table to the next to take photos with loyal fans.

AGL is an Australian company which have been around for more than 180 years. AGL also provides some rewards programs on movie tickets, groceries, Perth restaurants and more. Visit agl.com.au/PerthBBQ to find out more.
