Bar Olé Iluka: Tapas, Tunes & That Churros Moment I’m Still Dreaming About

Some places just get it right from the moment you step in, and Bar Olé in Iluka? Oh, she got it right and then some 😍

I was absolutely smitten by the view alone, the perfect backdrop for a long, luxurious lunch. The sound of laughter and cocktails clinking? I was in my element 💃

From start to finish, the staff were so kind and helpful, the kind of service that makes you feel like you're already a regular. Every plate was beautifully presented, and the flavours? Pure joy. It’s a small menu, which honestly just means each dish is treated like royalty 👑✨

Here’s what we ordered (and devoured 😋):

  • Anchoas de Olé: El Capricho anchovy on manchego and crouton
What a zesty, umami, rich bite to start the lunch! I was already sold from the first crunch 💥

  • Acorn Fed Jamón Ibérico (20g)
Silky, nutty, and deeply savoury, I understand the obsession 🐖✨

  • Vieira – Charred Arolhos scallops with chorizo, tocino and honey
I will never shut up about these scallops. Sweet, smoky, tender. Just... YES. 😭🧡

  • CerdoMoore River Pork loin with smoked beans
Hearty, juicy, and paired so well with the earthiness of the beans. It was giving… comfort food but sexy 😏

  • Ojo de CostillaDonnybrook Pink ribeye with mojo rojo
Tender, rich, and cooked to melty perfection. The mojo rojo had me scraping the plate. No regrets 💋

  • Churros – Served with dulce de leche and chocolate sauce
Soft, warm, golden goodness. My only complaint? That I shared it. Next time, I’m gatekeeping this plate 💅🔥

TIP: Order a side of Guindillas (pickled peppers) as a snack or to pair with your mains, they're the perfect zingy contrast 🫑✨

By the end of lunch, we were already plotting our return to try the rest of the menu. Isn’t that always the sign of a good time? When your belly’s full but your heart’s already craving more 💖

Bar Olé, see you again very soon 🌶️🥂
