VQ's Birthday: Theo & Co Pizzeria Review

VQ Birthday Celebration

A group of 23 people went to Theo and Co to celebrate a special girl's birthday and boy, it was a feast full with delicious pizzas! The staff managed to get a few small tables and turned it into one long table for us although we need to squeezed in some more due to some latecomers. The restaurant wasn't busy at all during Monday night and our pizza came out promptly, one after the other.

Overall it was a great night out where hearty pizzas were served promptly at a place where staff was friendly and professional in a spacious and well decorated place.

The kitchen was quite open and customers can peek into the kitchen to see how the pizza got decorated with toppings. We got a chance to see dough making training where a staff member rolled the dough into a round ball, cut and weighed it to create perfect pizza dough. Theo & Co also sells the 2nd book by the master of Pizza, Kalegaros which has the direction of making your own pizza and even the pizza oven in it.

I like a restaurant with awesome decoration and I think Theo & Co fits in well into this category. I noticed a few gold coloured skull bag hangers attached on jarrah high tables, which was very cool and useful for female diners. I like the wooden dough rollers on the wall, Death by Pizza painting by LFD, a stack of old tomato cans near the toilet, a pile of flour bags, mixers and brown chairs with parts from old bicycles.

Gotta order some dessert pizzas!

We had a lot of pizzas last night but the one that I like was the Roast Chicken Burrito where the chicken was marinated with achiote (Mexican paprika). The combination of spicy salsa, garlic, mozzarella, onion, tomatoes and avocado really introduced freshness into the whole pizza. The leftover of Roast Chicken Burrito tasted really fresh still when I heated it up for lunch. We had Cookies & Cream as well as the Mudhoney. If I were to pick between the two, then I'd choose Cookies & Cream only because Mudhoney can be too sweet for my liking. My two ultimate favourite dessert pizzas from their range are Eskimo Joe and Red Velvet.

One of the feedback that we had from people last night was that pizza tasted a bit dry. In the case of chicken fettucine, it wasn't as creamy as usual and the pizza base for our dessert pizzas were a bit hard to bite into. (I was 99.9% sure that my grandma would have difficulty chewing into those dessert pizzas.)
