The Hidden Yocal Cafe
If there was one place that I recurrently visit in Freo it would be the paid car park, so I was surprised that I didn't notice Yocal Cafe before. The cafe was easily accessible especially since the location is right across the Collie St paid parking. It looked like an old house that was transformed to be a clean cute café.
I went there after my visit to the Freo Markets out of curiosity (or to snoop around). Yocal Cafe has a really quirky and colourful interior especially when one’s welcomed with the funky orange chandelier and colourful furnitures. I spotted a makeshift high table that was created from an old bed frame, but the rusty metal may be a turn off and might even repel some people from sitting there. Plenty of outdoor seating and on one corner there were a lot of plants decorated on the wall, making it feel very pleasant and relaxed. I walked to the back area where the toilet was and found more gorgeous plants.
When I purchased my coffee, one of the staff told me that I can put an order through TXT4COFFEE. I never used the app before, but I guess I should download it to see if it’s being utilised by other coffee shops. My coffee came quickly, warm and easy to drink. Unfortunately I was too full to sample anything from their cake selection but I will go back to try their breakfast menu next time. Besides, it was a quick walk from the car park anyway ;-)
