Rabbit in the Moon Cafe

Rabbit in the Moon is such a cute name and my first impression was that I really liked this cosy and bright looking café. The café was decorated very well with a combination of bright yellow and pastel colours all throughout and the sunny yellow coffee machine. The café itself is located in between housing areas on Doepel St. Parking can be quite challenging, but it’s still within walking distance from various free parking spots to the café and to the Swan River. There are some outdoor seating available to enjoy the breeze, the river view and fresh air.

Toilets are available inside the café and there were some toys for kids to play with while they’re waiting for their food. The café is quite spacious with ample amounts of natural lights coming in easily due to the large folding doors with glass.

Kumara Rosti with mushroom and poached egg

We weren’t that hungry as we had a lot of house-made party sausage rolls and pasties from Bread Craft in the morning, so we opted for two drinks, a croissant and kumara (sweet potato) rosti with poached eggs and mushrooms. The kumara rosti arrived and it looked so well presented. However I found that the rosti was a bit too mushy for my liking, but I like the sweetness of it. The meal itself was quite bland, so I just squeezed the lemon that they put for decorations over my meal and mixed it around. I love the addition of the zesty flavour to the meal!

The Colossal Croissant

The Colossal Croissant

Hubby’s croissant was gigantic but it wasn’t as tasty as it looked.  It's not to say that the meal was bad it just wasn't as good as other places offering croissants but the big tick is the size of it.

One thing that is worth mentioning was that traditional OJ wasn’t in the menu so I was so thankful when the owner showed flexibility by saying that he could just make one fresh glass of OJ for us. The young coconut drink with mint was very refreshing and gave me a good idea to make some when the weather gets warmer.

We had a great experience at the café and the service was really good. We will get back to try something else such as the Choc Brownie or Bulgogi Beef Burger that I was contemplating for.
