Dessert Room, Karawara (Invited)
Dessert Room was formerly known as Theobroma Chocolate Lounge and it's located at the Waterford Plaza in Karawara. Our friend Jonas Cheah from Don Burger invited some foodies to try on some of the desserts. We were in for a treat especially with the delicious red velvet waffle.
The waffle was really crispy and made really well with the raspberry white ice cream sandwiched in between the two red waffles. The ice cream was covered with frozen chocolate and gave us a positive impression. Note: every Wednesday, Dessert Room put their waffles sandwich on special for $10.
Dessert Room stocked various delicious Indonesian style Swiss rolls, created by Vonny from Rollpublic. My favourites were the pandan cheese (who doesn't love pandan, right!) and the savoury pork floss with chili sauce. Nini and Val were the only two that finished the durian roll because they loved it so much. The rest of us didn't have high tolerance for durian flavour.
Dessert Room's milkshakes were less thick compared to American style milkshakes but I really like it. I ordered the taro milkshake because (1) I will get a purple coloured drink and (2) I usually enjoy taro better than matcha. It was refreshing, not overly sweet and delicious. The blue macaron on top of it makes the drink look really pretty in the photo.
Here are some other milkshakes that other foodies ordered:
The kaffir lime coconut pannacotta with strawberry coulis, mango sorbet and peanut tuile were really amazing! For the longest time PFG and I tried to guess the hidden ingredient in the pannacotta when Nini nonchalantly said it was kaffir lime (hahaha).
Dessert Room is going to change some of their decorations in the upcoming months or so and I will go for their pandan waffle with kaya next time. Yum!
