New Bar Menu at Must Winebar (Invited)

Must Winebar is home to more than 500 types of wine and they released their new bar menu (called Must Graze) recently. Most items in the menu cost under $20 and each of them were really delicious. We were invited to try some of the dishes as you can see from below photos. What we had was sample sizes of the original food, so presentation and portion might be a bit different from below photos.

Wagyu Carpaccio

I love how the Wagyu carpaccio looked very beautiful in colour. This dish was really attractive and had a great mix of elements like roast Heirloom Peppers, sour and salty capers, creamy aioli and thinly sliced salty Pecorino. One mouthful wasn't enough to enjoy the melt-in-your-mouth slice of wagyu ;-).

Cured Ocean Trout

The cured ocean trout came in a sample size and looks very presentable! It was served together with pickled cucumber, dill and shichimi. I had two spoons of this refreshing dish. Something to go for if you're after a light dish.

Char-grilled Fremantle Octopus

The fresh char-grilled Fremantle octopus was served on top of Must's housemade potato crisp and horseradish mayo. I like how the octopus still retains its chewiness, yum! The ponzu jelly gave bit of reinvigorating flavour to the whole dish.

Must Croque Monsieur was a combination of Bechamel and smoked raclette long sandwich that got wrapped together in crispy pancetta. It was then cut up into bite sized pieces to make it easier to eat. This was a perfect bar snack, a mix of carbs and enough saltiness in the mouth.

Crispy Karaage!

Everyone was so excited when they saw a plate of crispy fried chicken being brought in by the staff. Chef Russell got his inspiration to make this from the famous Nobu's miso marinated black cod. The chicken was coated in batter, shichimi and Kewpie mayo before it was fried. This fried chicken was really flavourful and the juicy meat absorbed the taste really well. I liked it by itself without dipping it into the miso tomato sauce that came with the dish.

FAB Burger

I usually get a bit excited when I see a burger because I wanted to try the patty. Must's French Aussie Burger (FAB) came with sweet beetroot and onion relish, Gruyere cheese, Belgian style Andalouse mayo and a side of crispy onion rings. I don't usually fancy any beetroot in my burger but this one was really scrumptious.

Steak Frites - $28

The Steak Frites was the perfect end to the night. The 200g rump steak was dry-aged for 28 days so the meat was really tender and I really loved the meaty flavour. The steak was glazed with luxurious Cafe de Paris butter. I folded my steak to put the butter in between the meat and it was so tasty. This dish also came with a bowl of fries.

All dishes that we tried were really delicious and even the steak frites can be shared easily in a group. I think all the dishes were really thoughtful and it shows in the choice of ingredients. The Must Graze menu was definitely a must try when you visit Must Winebar for after work drinks or simply just to hangout with some friends.
