Chapas Kitchen & Bar, Beaufort St
What was supposed to be a small dinner became quite a big dinner for us and we had a good catch up at Chapas. I am excited to see the full menu as well as the tea degustation that will take place in a month or two.
Dinner at Pearl Restaurant, Riseley St
Pearl was a good Vietnamese restaurant to have around the south of the river area and it is best to book your seat in advance as we saw a good flow of people coming into the restaurant during a normal weeknight. Their beefy Pho Dac Biet is a must try!
Opening Feast at PappaRich Joondalup (Invited)
Whether you call the meals in Papparich authentic Malaysian dishes or think of them as an imposter, Papparich has always delivered consistency to their meals and the food speaks for itself.
RiceField by Homecooked at Cockburn Central
Our favourite dish was the sambal prawn and it was amazing how most recipes was received from the lady boss (Amy)'s husband's family lineage up to the husband's grandmother. This has allowed each dish to have a very personal history.
Nomstar Ramen, Waterford Plaza Karawara (Invited)
I’m impressed at how Nomstar took the feedback around their ramen to heart and used those comments as the catalyst to move them forward and improve. Here's what we think about the new Nomstar's menu.
A Feast at Miss Chow's, Claremont Quarter (Invited)
If you’ve been to Apple Daily then you will remember the taste of their food especially their roast duck bun. Thus the over-excitement when we got the invitation to visit Miss Chow’s and try some food from their menu, especially when the menu was created by the former head chef of Apple Daily, Andrew J. Moore
Dessert at Shark Bites Toast, Victoria Park
We loved the seasonal menu of the mango desserts! I will be back to try the savoury range from Shark Bites Toast but so far all of us want a repeat of the good dessert experience.
Venus Banquet at Phill Bean, Shelley
I definitely think Phill Bean has a really good price tag for their Korean food banquets menu and the 2 people banquets can easily be shared between 3-4 people.
Rice Noodle House, Shelley
Many years ago this restaurant earned itself a title of the best chicken rice and was well known as the 'Marjorie's Chicken Rice' among university students. We tried out their Hainan Chicken Rice out of curiousity.
Old Cathay Birthday Banquet
The Old Cathay restaurant delivered amazing range of fine Chinese cuisine from different regions. Check out some food photos that we took from the birthday banquet!
Wii's Thai Cafe, Baldivis
Finding a local good restaurant felt like finding a $20 note from some jeans that just came out of the washing. It was very exciting especially since Wii’s Thai was only about a 5 minutes’ drive from home.
Andly Private Kitchen, Leederville
Every aspiring chef will want to have his own restaurant as part of his life's achievement and for one chef, Andly Li, that dream has come to fruition in the form of a Private Kitchen in Leederville. Here is our impression of the special menu that Chef Andly prepared for us.
Blinco Street Cafe, Fremantle
Blinco Cafe lends itself to playfulness and being laid back too with a plush toy of Homer Simpson sitting at one of the tables. There are colourful cushions, paintings on display and music ranging from upbeat jazz, Gregorian chant to the relaxing sounds of Enya. It's hard to describe but this place is playful, colourful, charming and chilled all in one package.
Kitchen Inn Kardinya
Kitchen Inn is definitely a good place if you’re looking for some East Malaysian food and each dish comes with a good price point.
Uncle Billy's Chinese Restaurant
Perth's Chinatown in Northbridge may be rather small and quiet but for as long as I can remember, it is well known for a restaurant called Uncle Billy's.
Melting Pot Applecross
Melting Pot is a small restaurant, but the customer service and quality of food that they served was quite top-notch. Find out what we usually ordered there!
