Chapas Kitchen & Bar, Beaufort St
What was supposed to be a small dinner became quite a big dinner for us and we had a good catch up at Chapas. I am excited to see the full menu as well as the tea degustation that will take place in a month or two.
Authentic Italian Pizza at Magna Pizza, Fremantle
If you’re after an authentic Italian Pizza, try Magna Pizza at The Mantle and book in advance to secure your dining spot. Their pizza dough rises for at least 36 hours and they also serve other food items such as crepes, sandwiches and cakes.
The General Sherman, Murdoch
The General Sherman was a fresh addition to the St John of God hospital and they offered fresh selection of food, along with the yummy Summer Bagel!
Dinner at Pearl Restaurant, Riseley St
Pearl was a good Vietnamese restaurant to have around the south of the river area and it is best to book your seat in advance as we saw a good flow of people coming into the restaurant during a normal weeknight. Their beefy Pho Dac Biet is a must try!
Catch Up at Apache Spur, Willeton
A few friends and I were planning to catch up on Wednesday this week and one of them suggested to give a place called Apache Spur a try. There was extra incentive to go too since every Wednesday all burgers on the menu were half price!
Journey to The Pickled Herring at Two Rocks (Invited)
Ever since Chef Neil Herbert took over the kitchen of the Pickled Herring at Two Rocks, he has been trying to reinvent the place with a new identity and we were amazed at the delicious summer menu that he cooked for us.
Birak Season at the Wildflower Perth
My first experience dining in at the Wildflower was really excellent. I could taste the quality of fresh produce in each bite and I couldn't wait to see what they will have in store for the next Nyoongar season!
Opening Feast at PappaRich Joondalup (Invited)
Whether you call the meals in Papparich authentic Malaysian dishes or think of them as an imposter, Papparich has always delivered consistency to their meals and the food speaks for itself.
Lot Twenty: A Lesson in Oysters & Whisky (Invited)
A group of female bloggers were invited to Lot Twenty’s Oysters and Whisky for a special night that was arranged by Grace McGurk. There we learnt a lot about oysters from the King of Oyster Shucker himself, Jerry Fraser and Bill Bewsher, who introduced us to the spectrum of single malt whiskies.
Missy Moos Burgers at Fremantle
With the competitive burger scene in Perth, customers know what a good burger taste like. I think there are other places who serve better burgers and at a better price. Fortunately this time we were able to use our voucher and paid less compared to what they usually charged. With that being said, it’s still good to know that there’s a decent burger place around this particular area of Fremantle.
RiceField by Homecooked at Cockburn Central
Our favourite dish was the sambal prawn and it was amazing how most recipes was received from the lady boss (Amy)'s husband's family lineage up to the husband's grandmother. This has allowed each dish to have a very personal history.
Hurricane's Grill, Hillarys Boat Harbour
The highlight of the night was a good bowl of the sweet potato chips with perfect crispiness. We probably go to Hurricanes again just for their lamb cutlets, sweet potato chips and good cocktail!
Chimek Alert! Gami at Shafto Lane
I assume every Chimek’s (chicken & mekju / beer) place will be successful because who doesn’t like beer and fried chicken, right? We had an enjoyable night at Gami and the service was really good as well. Gami will definitely be another good Chimek place to go to on top of the one that Perth already has (Sun BBQ, NeNe Chicken & Chimek Chimek).
Nomstar Ramen, Waterford Plaza Karawara (Invited)
I’m impressed at how Nomstar took the feedback around their ramen to heart and used those comments as the catalyst to move them forward and improve. Here's what we think about the new Nomstar's menu.
A Feast at Miss Chow's, Claremont Quarter (Invited)
If you’ve been to Apple Daily then you will remember the taste of their food especially their roast duck bun. Thus the over-excitement when we got the invitation to visit Miss Chow’s and try some food from their menu, especially when the menu was created by the former head chef of Apple Daily, Andrew J. Moore
Don Fuzion's New Menu @ The Food Foundry (Invited)
A group of Perth Foodies were invited to try out some dishes from the Don Fuzion at a new venue in Victoria Park called The Food Foundry. Soft opening will be on Wednesday the 2nd of December (shhh) while the 'official' opening day will be on Friday the 4th of December.
